The Buffalo Bills cheerleading corps will host open tryouts next months.

Buffalo Jills tryouts will take place March 5 at the Bills Fieldhouse next to Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park. Those who want to be a part of the team need to be at least 18 years old by March and attend twice-weekly practices Tuesdays and Thursdays. Jills also take part in numerous local events. The Jills appear at all home games.

There is no pay on practice or game days, but personal appearances pay $35 per hour. Jills get one ticket per home game for guests. Expenses-paid travel opportunities are available in some cases to visit military personnel. The Jills run a separate non-performing team for those without dance experience.

First-timers need to buy a uniform. There is a $50 audition fee. Returning Jills, except captains, need to audition again. The squad will consist of about 40 women.
