Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams got $100 million to join the team this past spring.

If he had his way, though, that offer would never needed to have been made.

Williams told Houston TV station KRIV his preference was to remain with Houston, which drafted him first overall in 2006:

"I didn't want to enter free agency in the first place, but it was a one-way door given to me by the GM to leave Houston. I want the fans there to know entering free agency was not my decision."

Williams had surgery last week to clean out his injured wrist, which he said has hampered him all season as he's struggled to only 3 1/2 sacks. He had 53 sacks in six seasons in Houston.

He said he feels much better after the procedure and would not have had it done if it would have kept him out of Sunday's game:

"I have a little something extra to prove. The way things ended, I definitely feel like it was kind of a rough and all-of-the-sudden goodbye. There's some things that I'm definitely uneasy about, the final decision making that happened there. It was just the way it was handled."
